The final days of Jesus were action-packed and full of significance: he entered Jerusalem to the praises of the people, overturned the tables of money changers doing business in the temple, washed the feet of his disciples, and ate one last meal with them. The mood of the people changed quickly, however, and their praises soon devolved into demands for Jesus’ death.
Jesus’ death was the perfect sacrifice and paid the price for sin once and for all. In Jesus’ resurrection, he defeated death with a full and final confirmation that he is indeed the Son of God.
Each Easter, we remember and celebrate Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection from the dead. His great gift paved the way for us to be made right with God—all who repent of their sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in his sacrificial death and resurrection, will enjoy everlasting life with their Creator and Savior.
