Explore Biblical Authority at the Creation Museum

The Biblical Authority room was part of a major upgrade to the Creation Museum that took place in 2019. With incredible theming and historical detail from floor to ceiling, this area makes you feel like you’ve stepped out of a museum and back in time.

It begins with an overview of what biblical authority means and a behind-the-scenes look at why certain design elements were chosen for this exhibit. As one of the signs says,

Cultures are dynamic and change frequently, and the cultures in the Bible are no exception. The world that Abraham knew is not the same one that David knew, or that Paul knew. This room reflects some of those differences and distinctions, from the structured and consistent style of ancient Egypt to the elegant and innovative style of the first century Greco-Roman world.

As you move farther inside, a series of snapshots begins, carrying you through a brief overview of Scripture from Joseph to Jesus, focusing on key figures and events coupled with archaeological notes. Each also includes an exploration of how God showed his power and authority over the false gods of the represented times.

Toward the room’s exit, the Bible’s textual integrity is examined, shifting the focus to its transmission and preservation, the scriptural canon, and manuscript evidence for the New Testament versus other ancient works.
