And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17, ESV)
Teach Me Automation will help you discover the world of automation as you learn technology principles, solve problems, and conquer challenges creatively on a team. The mission of Teach Me Automation is to glorify God by teaching and explaining the principles, patterns, and precepts of automation through the lens of God as our creator and sustainer. Teach Me Automation strives for excellence in all that they do, seeking to exhibit the fruits of the spirit in practical ways through their interactions with others. In this workshop, students will see the practical application of STEM related disciplines in action.
Automation is all around us and each of us will generally use it or have contact with several forms of automation every day. Join us as we build systems that demonstrate how sensors, motors and actuators interact with each other to process and manufacture the products we use in our daily lives. In the hands-on lab portion, students will work in teams as one team tries a manual process, and the other team does the same process with automation. Then, all hands on deck as TMA breaks out the robot arms to pick up and move pop cans. Who says learning cannot be fun? TMA will prove that wrong as we top off each workshop with a major team project that encompasses various concepts of automation.
Will you be a part of the automation generation? See how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics collide into this fascinating field of automation. All in all, the STEM fields will be explored using fun and interactive automation technology.
Open to students in grades 6–12 (ages 11 and up).
