And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17, ESV)
Teach Me Automation will help you discover the world of automation as you learn technology principles, solve problems, and conquer challenges creatively on a team. The mission of Teach Me Automation is to glorify God by teaching and explaining the principles, patterns, and precepts of automation through the lens of God as our creator and sustainer. Teach Me Automation strives for excellence in all that they do, seeking to exhibit the fruits of the spirit in practical ways through their interactions with others. The TMA hands-on automation lab portion will introduce the students to the basic concepts of automation. This will include using a digital multimeter to understand some basic electrical concepts. With a basic understanding of electricity, the students will progress through labs stations building small automation projects. These projects include blinking LED lights, using a stepper and servo motor, controlling devices with a joystick and so much more. Although most of the projects run in conjunction with a generic version of an Arduino and computer scripts or programs, no prior programming experience is required or expected. All in all, the STEM fields will be explored using fun and interactive automation technology.
Open to students in grades 6–12 (ages 11 and up).
Teach Me Automation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
