Explore Astronomy provides a glimpse into the handiwork of God through engaging presentations, hands-on labs, and unique experiences. Learn about the heavens in our very own observatory under the guidance of Prof. Danny Faulkner.

Open to students in grades 4–12 (ages 9 and up).

Explore Astronomy is a six-hour program: 4:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
*One parent is required to attend the evening portion of the program (8:00–10:00 p.m.).

The Explore Days program is on a 4-year rotating schedule. Each Explore Day includes a minimum of four hands-on, interactive sessions. The yearly topics are provided in the schedule below.

Please keep in mind that some of our activities are contingent upon weather.

Pricing & Registration

  • $19.99/student (museum general admission is not required or included)
  • Includes all scheduled events and parking fee.
  • Bring your own dinner, or an optional meal voucher is available for purchase. Cash purchases are not permitted due to time constraints.

To complete your child’s registration for the Explore program, adult chaperones must present these forms upon arrival on your Explore Days workshop date.
