The Marvelous Design of Creepy-Crawlies

A fun exhibit located off of the Creation Museum’s Palm Plaza is Dr. Crawley’s Insectorium. This huge array of beetles, butterflies, walking leaves, dragonflies, and other insects was donated to Answers in Genesis by Dr. Geoff Crawley after many years of gathering his fabulous collection.

Though it can be easy for many of us to dismiss insects as an annoyance, these creatures serve an important purpose in our world. They also exhibit an incredible level of design that can only be adequately explained by the existence and work of our great Creator God.

In this exhibit, museum guests can get an up-close view of cases and cases of fascinating specimens from Dr. Crawley’s collection while taking in signage discussing the amazing world of insects from a biblical worldview. Discover insect facts, learn about beetle kinds and fossilized insects, and contemplate whether such creatures would have been taken aboard Noah’s ark.

In addition, the insectorium features an animatronic figure programmed to expound upon insect design. There is also a magnification station where guests can “zoom in” on a special selection of insects and observe some of their unique features.
