Adam and Eve Rebel

The great deceiver, Satan, disguised as a serpent, tempted Eve with the first attack on God’s Word: “Did God really say . . . ?” Eve trusted Satan more than the Lord and ate the fruit that was pleasing to the eye; then she gave some to Adam and he also ate. Their disobedience is called original sin and is commonly referred to as the Fall.

Sin Affects All of Creation

After Adam’s and Eve’s sin, God cursed the ground and delivered direct consequences to both men and women. This original sin is the reason we encounter things such as venomous animals, poisonous plants, carnivores, death, disease, pain, and suffering.

The Consequence of Original Sin

All of creation is still suffering from the effects of God’s judgment because of sin, anxiously awaiting the day when God’s curse will be removed.

The Answer

Thank God this present suffering under sin is not where man’s story ends! “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous” (Romans 5:19). Discover the Good News
