Every year, besides adding more lights, we try to add something new to the Garden of Lights. Several years ago, we were introduced to blizzard tubes, the lights placed high in the trees to remind viewers of snowfall. Next, our grounds crew hung huge balls of lights in the trees, followed by huge balls of lights on the hill sides. Last year, we saw the addition of a wall of lights. Probably the most popular lights of all are the lights on the steel-framed dinosaurs placed throughout the garden. The kids really love those! Not only have we taken back dinosaurs, we have lit them up for Christmas! (There are no houses in your neighborhood with lit dinosaurs!)
Many venues use the same color of lights, but here at the Creation Museum, you will see various themes of colors. But nothing does more for the color of the gardens than a beautiful snowfall! The snow and ice multiply the effects of the light. If Monday morning’s snowfall is any indication of what is in store for us this season, the gardens are going to be spectacular again this year!
