The much anticipated, long awaited Creation Museum is scheduled to open May 28, 2007 and the Fabrication Team is working at a break-neck pace to meet the goal. We have 50 temporary staff from local agencies assisting the regular Museum staff to finish the work of building this history-making place.
Simulated pitch was created to 'hold Noah's ark together' on its voyage into the hearts and minds of museum guests. The adjoining Voyage Room will allow visitors to get a glimpse of life on the ark, after God shut the door.
The sculptors have created some beautiful and amazing diorama scenes, one of which will be installed in the Babel Area - depicting men and women living in caves, warming themselves by the fire. It's incredible!
On the Creation Walk, concrete workers are assisting artists with finishing touches on the landscape and rock formations. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is in the final stages of fabrication, soon ready for the serpent to crouch in, waiting to tempt Adam and Eve.
Down in the Palm Plaza, you'll find a place to rest by the fountain and time to reflect on the message of the museum, sipping a drink in the Cafe. This week, we've been wrapping up getting the walls up in the Dragon Theater, and building display cases for our fossil collections.
Our SFX theater is nearing completion. The crew has almost finished installing the 197 fixed seats. This theater will have a total seating capacity of 203 when we include space for guests in wheelchairs. Three screens will be put in their places soon. Museum goers will feel as if they are at sea with the wind blowing and the water misting all around them.
We've been happily working 6 days a week since February to give all we have toward this project. Many volunteers have been there along the way to help lighten the load, and we want to thank them for all their hard work. We know that when the Lord opens the doors to the museum, every brick laid, every table, counter and cabinet will be the result of His help; and will be to His glory and reflect Christ to the world. We are humbled and honored to be included in His work for His kingdom.
Again, thank you for stopping by and for all your prayers and support.
