Museum Update---Inside and outside work

So many different things took place here at the museum last week, both inside and outside. Beginning inside, the bookstore is on its way to being completed, and does it ever look great! The painters finished up on Friday and almost all of the bookcases are now in place. The lighting is being finalized and the fabricators are working in the shop finishing up the point-of-sale stations.

In the Creation Walk area, Jesse continues to work on Adam’s house and is making progress on the exterior of it. It is neat to watch how he makes each brick out of foam.

Outside, our landscaping team continues to work on planting bushes, trees and flowers. Perry has been planting lily pads in the lake with help of a couple of volunteers. We also had more stripes added around the building to mark the fire lanes and bus drop-off areas.

Kim and Mark have been working on the outdoor patio, getting it ready to become an enclosed seating area. They have been preparing the plumbing prior to pouring the concrete for the floor. This will help add more eating space to the café. This summer, two outdoor decks will be added onto this new area.
