The last week of the year here at the Creation Museum was a quiet one. Many of the museum team staff were at home with their families celebrating Christmas and New Year's.
Some work was still completed throughout the week down in the fabrication shop. The guys continued to work on the bookshelves for the bookstore---they are coming along.
On the Creation Walk, Mark was painting a huge mural on one of the large walls in the Garden of Eden area. It has been fascinating to watch how he paints these images freehand. We are looking forward to seeing the end results of his work soon.
Even though we had a short week last week (the office was open only three days), we had 80 people stop by to take a tour of the facility. We have stopped conducting tours due to all of the construction taking place, but last week was an exception due to no work being done in the exhibit areas. It is still amazing to us that so many people come to see the museum even while it is still under construction.
2006 is going to be a quick year as construction continues and we get prepared for the museum to open in 2007! We find it hard to believe the time is coming so quickly and that we are getting closer to having the museum fully funded. We are less than 6 million dollars away from our goal of 25 million and we are hopeful that the funds will be raised before the doors open in the spring of 2007.
Thanks again for joining us. We appreciate all of your prayers and support for the museum.
