Discover the Truth

Our inspiring Discover the Truth workshops feature the talented Dr. David Menton, as well as other scientists from Answers in Genesis.

Dr. Menton holds a PhD in cell biology from the Ivy League Brown University. He was associate professor of anatomy for many years at the respected Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He brings many years of educational experience to each presentation, along with a wonderful sense of humor. His rigorous application of scriptural truth and scientific principles enhance the learning experience for audiences of all ages.

Three Ways to Make an Apeman

Did you know that there are only three ways to make an apeman? Far from being ancestors of humankind, apemen must be constructed by taking a human skull and declaring it to be ape-like (Neanderthal man), taking an ape skull and declaring it to be human-like (Lucy, or Australopithecus afarensis), or mixing fossil ape and human specimens together (as was done with Piltdown man). The Hearing Ear and the Seeing Eye

So how do our senses sense? Why don’t your ears see, and why can’t you hear with your fingers? Did all this just happen? Take a FUNtastic trip with Dr. Menton into the marvelous intricacies of the human ear, and uncover the unique elements enabling human sight. Microscarium

Enter the world of the microscopic with the intrepid Dr. Menton. Embark on a journey through a landscape filled with ferocious-looking creatures, and watch as they move rapidly through the dense jungle of the living world that is their home, hunting for something to eat. All this is found in a drop of water from the museum’s lake. From single-celled protozoa that accomplish many of the same functions as humans do (we have 30 trillion cells), to the more complicated creatures sucking in anything that comes near them, you will be thrilled with this trip through the wondrously surprising micro-world created by our awesome God. Evolution: Not a Chance

Evolution is bad science, but makes good magic! Using magical illusions, Dr. Menton illustrates the improbability of evolution. Biological systems leave little to chance. Instead, genetic information is precisely encoded in the DNA. You will see how to calculate the probability of the chance arrangement of amino acids required by evolution into biologically useful proteins. What are the odds that evolution happened? Body of Evidence

Join Dr. Menton as he explores the human body in this unique workshop. Using a life-size torso of the human body, Dr. Menton will investigate the location and structure of numerous organs. He will also display slides of actual organ tissues using his microscope and a large screen for all to see God’s special design for each organ. (View/download PDF)

Creation Adventure

The Creation Adventure Workshops are led by adventurer Buddy Davis. Gifted by God in many ways, Buddy Davis is a sculptor, speaker, singer, and songwriter for Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum. An adventurer and paleo-artist, he also sculpted many of the dinosaurs displayed in the Creation Museum. These one-hour programs feature several fun activities including sculpting a dinosaur head from clay. (View/download PDF)

Answers for Kids

Answers are important. If children aren’t given answers to their questions about Scripture and the history it reveals, they cannot defend their faith against a fallen world. These fun and interactive workshops are designed to provide children with the answers they need. Our programs examine such timeless topics as dinosaurs, fossils, biblical history, and more.

Drawing Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are fun to draw! Did you know there is a way to draw dinosaurs from a biblical point of view?

Join Christian cartoonist and illustrator Dan Lietha for dinosaur drawing demonstrations and fun drawing lessons. Dan has been drawing for Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis since 1995 and is best known for the comic strips CreationWise and After Eden. Find out more about Dan and his ministry at his website. Fun with Fossils

Do your children love fossils? Are they always picking up rocks and asking what they are?

Join Stephanie McDorman, Creation Museum registrar, for this fun fossil workshop. This program focuses on the importance of fossils and what they teach us when understood from a biblical viewpoint. Every child will have the opportunity to make his or her own shark’s-tooth necklace to take home as a reminder of what was learned. Dinosaurs!

Do your children love dinosaurs? Would they like to learn more about these amazing creatures?

Join author and speaker Bodie Hodge for this informative workshop that is all about dinosaurs and dragons! Dinosaurs are seen as an icon of evolution and used to promote millions of years to children even at very early ages. The Seven C’s

Do you know the Seven C’s of history? Join Dr. Terry Mortenson, speaker for Answers in Genesis, for a fun and educational workshop about history from a biblical perspective. The “Seven C’s” (Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation) help us remember the big events which have affected—and will continue to affect—the history and future of the universe.

This program covers Creation, the Fall, the Flood, Christ, and the Gospel. Dr. Mortenson will employ graphics, rocks, fossils, and other fun visual aids in a time designed to equip your kids with the biblical answers they need in today’s world. They will enjoy lively interaction with Dr. Mortenson as they learn vital truths related to the Gospel.

Snakes Alive

What words come to mind when you imagine a snake? Slimy? Slithery? Dangerous?

Join herpetologist Rick Teepen with the ever popular Snakes Alive workshop to look at reptiles from God’s perspective. Have you ever seen a snake in your own backyard and either run away in fear or leaned in for a closer look? When you visit the Creation Museum to watch Snakes Alive, you can get a closer look.

This interactive workshop features many different live reptiles that showcase God’s creative hand. You’ll see many amazing creatures that display features that could only be created by an intelligent designer—God.

With twenty-five reptiles including snakes, lizards, turtles, and even an alligator, Rick explains why certain animals have specific characteristics and how they fit into God’s plan for the world. Bring a camera for some close encounters and an opportunity to have your own photograph posing with a live snake. If you’ve visited before, consider returning to see what new creatures you’ll meet. Cursed Plants

Imagine what would the world be like if you were the size of an insect or small animal. What dangers are found in brightly colored, fragrant perches? What might lie coiled below the foliage of an exotic plant? What would you see as you trek through remote environs and boggy terrain?

Join Ron Dudek as he presents “Cursed Plants—Exploring the Mysterious World of Carnivorous Plants.” Take a look at carnivorous plants and learn about “Creation gone backwards!” How do flying creatures get lured into these traps, and why can’t they get out? Is this how God designed them, or has something happened since Day 3 of creation, when God looked at all created plants and saw that they were good? Birds of a Feather

Embark on an amazing flight through the world of the pigeon and dove. Did you know that there are over 250 varieties of pigeons and doves? Ever since Noah released the dove from the Ark (Genesis 8:8), these birds have had a close relationship with mankind.

Join pigeon fancier Greg West for a fascinating look at an amazing variety of birds. With live birds on display, you will learn about several types of pigeons and doves. Buzz about Bees

Have you ever watched a honey bee and wondered what the buzz is all about, or enjoyed the sweetness of a drop of golden honey and thanked God for His creation of the honey bee?

Come and find out what makes this little insect so amazing and why it is such a blessing from God. You will also discover why one of God’s promises to the Israelites to give them a land “flowing with milk and honey” shows the “sweetness” of God.
