September 3–4, 2016
GRAB A FLASHLIGHT, lace up your hiking boots, and come along with Dr. Andrew Snelling on an adventure-packed weekend of spelunking, September 3–4! Dr. Snelling, a geologist, will lead you on an exciting journey through the breathtaking Cumberland Caverns, located in McMinnville, Tennessee. This is your chance for an up-close look, and you're sure to discover plenty of behind-the-scenes information about the making of the video, not to mention great teaching about cave formation within a biblical framework.
In addition to exploring the caves, the day’s activities will include dinner in the cave, a showing of the Buddy Davis video Extreme Caving, a concert by Cody Lutz, and an option to camp overnight in the cave! This is an action-packed event that you won't want to miss!
Come see what waits beneath the surface in Tennessee! This guided tour includes historic saltpeter artifacts, gleaming pools, and a waterfall. The walking tour is a 1.5-mile hike over rock and dirt—fun for all ages. Please bring the kids, but leave the strollers behind (there are steps and slopes on the pathway that make it inaccessible to strollers).
The walking tour includes the hike, dinner, a concert by Cody Lutz, and a showing of Extreme Caving.
Creation Museum Members (all ages): $35
Non-Members (all ages): $45
Why go home when you can spend the night with us in the cave? Cumberland Caverns’ Ten Acre Room is equipped with electrical outlets and fully functional restroom facilities. Additional restroom facilities and showers are available outside the cave. You will carry your gear half a mile from the parking area to the cave, so pack light.
For adventurous guests, one of the highlights of the evening will be the chance to go wild cave spelunking! You will encounter crawls and climbs, ladders and ledges, and tight squeezes. You will get wet and muddy! Guests will have to “test” to make sure they can fit through the smallest crevice (11 inches high) before beginning this strenuous adventure. This portion is recommended for ages six and up. Gear is provided.
The overnight adventure also includes the walking tour, dinner, concert, Extreme Caving video, and breakfast the next morning.
Creation Museum Members (all ages): $60
Non-Members (all ages): $70
