Paleontological Adventures in Montana
July 22–26, 2019
It only comes every two years, so don’t miss this chance to dig for dinosaur fossils with Buddy Davis of the Creation Museum!
The Creation Museum has partnered with the Foundation Advancing Creation Truth (FACT) to offer an exciting Dinosaur Dig with Buddy Davis! This paleontological adventure takes place in eastern Montana, home of many amazing fossil finds.
The program begins on Monday afternoon and continues through Friday evening. Attendees might want to spend the weekend before and/or after in some of the amazing places that are located within a day’s drive of Glendive, Montana. Guests could visit spectacular places like Yellowstone National Park, the Black Hills, or Glacier National Park, to name a few.
Starting early to beat the heat, participants spend the majority of each day out in the field, arriving back at the hotel in time to wash the dirt off and put on clean clothes before the afternoon program. During previous digs, the teams found dinosaur bones and teeth, including some from T. rex, Edmontosaurus, and Triceratops. Fossil finds also included turtle bones and shells, figs, petrified wood, and more. Everyone found something, including some souvenir fossils they were able to take home!
Buddy Davis, dinosaur sculptor for the Creation Museum, musician, and popular AiG speaker, assists with the digs and provides exciting programs in the afternoons for everyone on the dig team. Buddy has been on many dinosaur excavations, including one on the North Slope of Alaska.
We hope you’ll join us for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

The fee covers transportation for dig activities while in Glendive, dig training, assistance and equipment, programs by Buddy Davis, and two lunches. Guests will be responsible for their lodging, other meals, and transportation to Glendive.
We recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Glendive, where we have a group rate. There are nearby campgrounds and other hotels, but guests will need to be at the Holiday Inn every morning to ride with the team to the dig site, which is about five miles away, and every evening for the program. Guests are responsible for their lodging.
Participants must be at least 12 years old at the time of the dig. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Pets are not permitted at the dig site.
It certainly can be. Guests should be in reasonably good shape to participate, but don’t have to be athletes. It can get quite hot in eastern Montana, possibly even over 100 degrees. To reach the dig site, we have to hike uphill on a moderately strenuous trail that is not paved. We go back down the hill to the picnic shelter for lunch, then hike back up again for an afternoon of digging.
Plenty of drinking water and sports drinks are provided, and we may alter the schedule if the weather calls for it, but we cannot guarantee your comfort. This is a real dig, and you will get a taste of what professional paleontologists and fossil hunters experience. By the time we head back for the hotel around in the afternoon, we will all be happy to hit the showers and have some down time in the comfort of our hotel rooms!
