Calvin Farley Returns for Deaf Day 2017

by Creation Museum on September 21, 2017

The Creation Museum will host its eighth annual Deaf Day on Saturday, October 14, 2017, and we are excited to welcome Calvin Farley back for this special event. For the past two years, Calvin has been a guest favorite. Learn more about Calvin and what you’ll experience at Deaf Day at the Creation Museum.

Calvin’s Journey

Calvin, who was born deaf, became a Christian when he was 11 years old, but his faith began to waiver when he recognized that the evolutionary and millions-of-years teaching he was receiving did not mesh with the Bible. He was considering atheism when his wife and a friend encouraged him to go to an American Sign Language (ASL)-interpreted seminar by Ken Ham, president and CEO of our parent ministry Answers in Genesis.

When Calvin learned the answers to his many questions about Genesis and science, he was thrilled. God used those answers to turn his life around, and now he has a passion for sharing with other Deaf (and hearing) people what the Bible teaches and how to defend it.

Dinosaurs and the Bible

Calvin will be bringing a new presentation to Deaf Day this year, so if you have joined us for this special event in the past, you will see new material from him. Calvin’s topic this year will be Dinosaurs and the Bible, presented in ASL. His presentation will be voice interpreted for hearing guests as well.

After Calvin’s presentation in Legacy Hall, you will have the opportunity to meet and speak with him.

Interpreter Assistance

In addition to Calvin’s presentation, the museum’s shows, other presentations, and workshops will be interpreted in ASL. Theater presentations in the Stargazer’s Planetarium will be captioned all day, as will the Men in White show in the Special Effects Theater.

When planning your visit to join us for Deaf Day, take advantage of the opportunity to experience Deaf Day at the Ark Encounter on Sunday, October 15.
