Dinosaur Dig: Thursday

by Creation Museum on July 30, 2010

A Report from the Field, by Creation Museum Registrar Stephanie McDorman

Today we met Marge, who has been digging up fossils on her ranch for over 50 years.

Marge has a spectacular collection on display!

This is part of the frill of a ceratopsid dinosaur (possibly a Triceratops) that Marge and Otis excavated.

We headed out on a dirt road on a private ranch (with the family’s permission) to do some prospecting!

Andrew found the first dinosaur bone in our group.

David found several fossils. He is quite the rockhound!

Frank found a bone. Way to go, Frank!

In Frank’s defense, it was hard to find anything unusual in this huge valley we searched in! There is lots of petrified wood and sandstone, but not much of what we were looking for.
