Microscope 101: An Introduction to Microscopy: This class is designed for ages 14 and up and will teach the parts of a microscope and their function. You will learn how to determine the resolution of a microscope and be able to properly illuminate your subject. We’ll show you how to do a wet mount, an important technique that will enable you to expand your study of the microscopic world. Most importantly, you will learn how to focus and use your microscope for the best possible view of your miniscule targets. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of achievement showing that you are certified to take advanced classes.
Tickets are normally $15.95 per participant but this special date is free for Creation Museum members! One observer’s ticket is available per participant. Observers will sit in the back of the classroom (not adjacent to the microscopes).
If you own a microscope, please feel free to bring it with you so that you can learn how to better use your own scope in addition to the scopes that we will be using in class.
Registration is required. Space is limited, so register early.
Due to limited availability, this event is restricted to museum members and their immediate family. Guest Passes may not be used for this event.
We cannot wait for the next [event] . . . so we can come again and hopefully plan for a longer trip [with] more time to watch the shows in the museum and appreciate it more. Even though we made a fast trip there and back home we loved it and were more relaxed on this trip than any other we have ever been on.”
